Turoa Ski Area boasts the largest vertical descent in Australasia. The resort is located on the south-western slopes of Mt Ruapehu with its cousin Whakapapa only a 40-minute drive away. Passes are interchangeable between the two resorts, making Mt Ruapehu the perfect choice for a week-long vacation.

 

Turoa recently extended their carpet lift and has a toboggan run alongside the beginners’ area for those too young to ski. MT HUTT

Mt Hutt is laid-back ski field, renowned for its long snow season, race training facilitates and open terrain. Located one-hour drive from Christchurch, the mountains offer on-mountain accommodation and equipment rental with an added bonus - kids under 10 ski for free!

Mt Hutt has all the advantages of the Southern Alps, with 365 hectares of skiable terrain and two terrain parks. The mountain’s ability to provide all levels of terrain - from beginner to advanced, makes it one of the best ski resorts in New Zealand. Mt Hutt is also a great option for those with teenage children with their Kruiser Squad development program running throughout the holidays.
